Try explaining to her the long-term affects of not eating. I know she's only 12 but eventually she might grow out of it or maybe not. It could be all the media pressure of being skinny that is affecting her.

Food is fuel for the body. If she is going to be working out, she needs to eat. If she is working out and not eating she is going to feel exhausted and have no energy. I think the recommended amount of exersize is around 3-5 times a week for 30-60 minutes. More is ok, if she would eat more to fuel her bod. In addition, if she isnt eating, her body will begin to realize it is being starved and start to try and conserve fat. Explainging that to her will probably make her eat more. Tell her several small meals a day with healthy choices of food are best.

tell her to eat fresh fruits and vegetables as they help to reduce weight. plenty of water is also required. also tell her that she needs healthy food to support her exercise. ask her to eat fruits half hr befor meals as this will avoid overeating. but rather fruits will act as appetizers increasing her hunger. 3 meals a day are must for any good looking human being.
if their is no energy then exercising becomes anerobic and then lethal toxins are produced which may cause fattynesss. and that 's what is happening with her.

Everyone needs to exercise. This child's parents could try to offer a nutritious diet and encourage her. A bagel is very inadequate food for a child of any age. When a child exercises, it usually helps to increase the appetite.

Be this girl's friend and try to encourage her that she wants to be beautiful from the inside out. You have to feed and water your body. It is important to have pretty skin and healthy body to go along with thinness. You achieve this by eating for a beautiful healthy body. If you don't it may cause you to get wrinkled too young and die before your time.

Exercise is great for kids, but from what you say, this child has a very unhealthy obsession. I would not be surprised if she tuened out to be anorexic.
Ask her more questions about what she eats, how often she eats routinely, and ask her if she ever makes herself sick. Talk to her parents and tell them how concerned you are. Talk with your parents also.
The following booklet in my reference should help.
Good luck and good work!

It sounds to me that she is anorexic. Exercising alot, not eating much, and thinking your fat no matter how much weight you lose are all signs of anorexia. Go to http://www.4woman.gov/faq/easyread/anorexia-etr.htm or
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anorexia_nervosa. The second one talks more about the symptoms. But if what you read in there dose sound like her i suggest you take her to the doctor immediately.
