First of all, the last thing you need is some idiot on here saying you are bi-polar and not ADD. How would she know? The public perception is that ADD is overdiagnosed, but there is little factual basis for that notion. Also, Tom Cruise is a dimwit. Don't take important psychological advice from people on the internet. Here are some facts to help you understand your drug:

Yes, adderall is AMPHETAMINE. It has been proven to improve both phsyical and mental performance. It increases your energy, as well as increasing your focus, and by tickling the pleasure centers of your brain, you can enjpoy the tasks you used to think of as chores. These are all good things. If you're at the point where you feel like you have to take a pill just to get up to feeling "normal," then you might want to cut back. Take a few days off if you can, or only take one pill per day instead of two. Or, you could simply talk to your doctor to increase the dosage to get the same affects from when you first started.

The main negative effect I've seen come from every day use is the tendancy to take life too seriously, and to lose some of your sense of humor. Also, some people develop an obsession about being "on-point" all the time.

Your family is going through some rough times. It's not an excuse but it is the cause. Your dad must be feeling like hell about himself and your mom is taking the lions share of the bills and duties. Your brother is just naturally a slob..That's boys for you :) He should be cutting the lawn. So...17 and your still in school. You have X time to devote to the house. Make your choices as to what you can do to contribute 25% to the household chores. Pick your battles. Stick to your chore list. Do it graciously and with class and dignity. Sometimes things get to a point of being so overwhelming it;s impossible to know where to start. Then everyone just gets a bigger mad on. Break the cycle. Tackle 1 room a day. Keep up with the kitchen and your room. Consider it practice for when you have your own place. Most of all be lovingly silent about it not boastful. No one will get in your face if you are doing. Mow the lawn yourself if it bugs you. Ask you dad to show you how if you never did it before. Here's what will happen ...you will embarrass the rest of them to getting their acts together. Your mom who is working her tush off and worried about bills will become your best friend. Your brother will not want to be bested by his "dumb" sister. Try it. I'm not saying become cinderella or do things out of some I'm better then the rest of you additude. Do it out of love. You will have this family forever and they really really need you now..That's what familys are all about.

Thats the reason why adderrall is so popular among college students. Not only will it give you the ability to study for hours on end, it gives you the desire also. So many people get addicted to stimulants and relapse not because withdrawl is so bad, but you just don't want to do anything when your not on them.

sounds more like bi-polar to me...adderall is a stimulant that given under the wrong conditions can cause mania, a feeling like you could tackle any job, and you have the energy to do anything. add is very hard to diagnose properly and is often times confused with depression anxiety and bi-polar disorders. adderall can also make depression worse.
