You could try a cot that folds up when you're not using it.

Head to a camping store. They have foam pads that will not get holes in them like an air mattress will. Or go to a better store( NOT A DIME STORE LIKE Walmart) and get a topper made of memory foam, I would not skimp to much on it if this is your regular bed, thicker is better. What ever you get I would keep it clean by sewing cover for it with an old sheet. I have a camping pad that I took a cabbage patch kid sheet folded it in half and made a sleeping bag for the pad to slip into.
Depending on what your needs are there are tons of choices.
Fabric stores also sell foam you can cut to size. or if you have some money saved up IKEA makes a coutch bed. It is simple and portable.

You can get a memory foam mattress which can be placed directly on the floor (doesn't necessarily need a foundation or a bed frame). You can try a memory foam overlay from Tempurpedic.

Inflatable mattress. When you're not using it, you can let the air out and put it in the closet. Some of them are really comfortable.

Try sofa cushions or make a mattress type bed of folded bedding quilts and blankets. Good luck.
