What would she rather have? A daughter on birth control or her daughter a mother at 16. Go to a planned parenthood in your area. You can arrange it so that if they call they will not disclose anything to anyone except you. you can get birth control there without her knowing.

Even though, I agree that 16 is a bit young to consider having a sexual relationship, KIDS WILL BE KIDS. With that in mind, I must commend you on being responsible. If you are thinking about having sex, then you are at an appropriate age to be on birth control. I would rather you be safe than sorry darling. If your mom has issues with this, then ask her if she is willing to help you take care of a newborn? Go to Planned Parenthood and speak to a counselor there. She would best decide what type of birth control is right for you. Good luck dear and remember, you can never get your virginity back. Consider that before you take that huge step.

I waited until I was a few years older than you in college, and now I wish that I even waited later. DO NOT HAVE SEX YET! You are way too young, and just be happy making out. The anticipation is better anyway. You have everything else to worry about--getting into a good college, hanging out with friends, shopping, etc. Please talk to your mom about it, and really be careful about going all the way. At least wait until college!

There is no certain age. If you can be mature about the subject I think you are good to go. Especially if you can talk open about it freely and if you love the guy.

the right age for birth control is whatever age you choose to have sex. don't let your mom's reaction prevent you from being smart, safe, and responsible.
