How many is too many on a woman? I have one on my lower back and I want to get another small one but my husband says too many totoos on a woman looks "trashy". What do you think?

As long as they aren't on your neck or face I think they are cool and two isn't too many a body suit is too many. And there are many other things that make a woman look "trashy" before a tattoo will like leather chaps and a boyfriend with a handlebar mustache on his Harley heading for Sturgis S.D. And even that is okay as long as her private parts remain covered. P.S I think Harley's are way cool!!

If you are getting a tattoo for the right reason, it doesn't matter what your husband or anyone on here thinks. It only matters that it is the right thing for you to do for yourself.
If you're just getting one to look cool, then 1 is too many. If you had one to experience it, great... but now you know and you can't say you need the experience again - so 2 would be too many. If, however, it's a symbol or design that you feel strongly about, and you want to go under the needle to permanently identify yourself with that design - if it means that much to you - then do it, and don't worry.
Never get a tattoo if you have even the slightest doubt. On the other hand, if you're sure, never let someone talk you out of a tattoo because of what "the Lord said" or what looks "trashy" in their opinion. If we went by everything in Leviticus, we would have a God that hated certain people (which Jesus specifically said he didn't...) and we would be just as wrong to eat half the things we eat.

I keep hearing that a lot too. My grandma even told me that a lot look "trashy" Well I asked a lot of my friends and people that I know and the majority said three... but it depends on the size. Also, if you're scared of looking "trashy" you should stay away from big ones, especially those that are viewable to everyone. Maybe try the pelvic area or somewhere that you could hide it if you want. I hope this helps. Good luck with it. Maybe even take your husband when you get it, so he feels as though he's a part of everything and feel a connection through the tattoo. :)

I don't think there is a set number of how many is too many.
It really depends on the person and the tattoos and whether or not they are happy with their choice.
I think its sucks your own husband would imply you are trashy. I say go for it and get the other tattoo. You only live once, so you might as well live it up in every way possible.

Haha...How many? I had the same question and started asking men and women around and found the results interesting...For my women i love as many as possible but my twin brother dispises tattoos if there are too many.
For men, i notice that most men dont like too many on women. Like your husband says it seem the consensous is that too many makes a woman look "trashy"...my brother likes to use the word "dirty" because she literally needs to take a shower of the dirt clingiing on the skin. I personally dont see it that way at all and think its asboulute wonder of the world.. The more the better because it is an expression of oneself. I met this one girl who was embarased to let people see or know she had tattoos and when she showed me her back it was covered with all kinds of work (busy bee this girl's been) and i honestly at one moment fell in love with this woman. I said "Oh my god!" and she thought i was discusted but i said "its absoutely beautiful!" and through other encounters we eventualyl became hooked up. Still the most beautiful thing i've ever seen (a woman with lots of tattoos in general). It says to me she is willing to go against the grain of society and express herself regardless of what others think...she takes chances and i love girls that are adventurous because i am ver bad-*** adventurous in my lifestyle.
Because i am a freak and love women with tattoos i'd listen to the other men and say just get one more and be done with it.

maybe your husband is closed minded. i am a woman with one large tattoo on the top of each of my feet and a super large tattoo on my back. when it's finished it will go from the top of my shoulders all the way down to the bottom of my back. i'm not trashy or s*utty or any of the other stereotypes that ignorant people throw at people with tattoos. i'm a normal person with a great job and great family and friends.

If multiple tattoos fit your lifestyle, then go for it. There are no hard rules about how many is too many, thought I certainly am in agreement that tattoos are like potato chips. Just one is never enough!
I guess the only rule for when it's time to stop getting tattoos is when you run out of skin!

well each to his own. imo you can never get enough. as long as the art is good, and the spot well chosen, i will be a fan! i have a lot of tattoos, and if you hubby met me, he would probably think they are cool, but maybe he doesn't like them for you.
I hope you can find a happy medium on this, cuz it sux that you wouldn't get one for a fear of looking trashy, when that is absolutely sooooo far from the truth.

I agree with the too many looks trashy, but one more isn't gonna make you trashy. I think 3 is a max for a woman.

It's your body, do what you feel. Everybody will have their own opinion, but you know what opinions are like. What looks trashy to one person might look inspirational to another.
