It is called munchausen’s syndrome, they will exaggerate things, lie, fake accidents even go to great lengths such as changing test results just to convince people they have something wrong with them (when of course they do not) unlike a hypochondriac who will exaggerate and worry over things like a twitch in an eye or a small pain. One lies one worries yes it is an illness

Just remember though that even people with this disorder ACTUALLY do get real illnesses once in while and because they cried wolf, they are not believed. Don't discount everything she says as fake. Munchausen's Syndrome starts in childhood with the parents whereas a hypochondriac starts later.

It is a psychological disorder. Just the other night it was referred to on television. Unfortunately, I forget the name of it. With all due respect to the person who said its "Munchausen's", I don't believe that is correct. That one is the name of the disorder related to mothers' causing their children to be sick in order to get attention for themselves.

yes but at this time i can not think of it. Of coarse one of these days you may think that she is doing this, and she may not be doing it, so please be careful with that. Cause right now what she needs is someone to pay some attention to her when she is not faking a problem, or accident. Cause she needs to know that she is wanted and loved without having to do that. So try that.

Munchausen's-by-proxy is when someone fakes or causes medical problems or accidents for another person (usually a child) in order to get attention for themselves.

It's only Munchausen's IF she causes sickness in children that are in her charge.
She sounds like a classic hypochondriac and definitely needs psychological help.

are you sure she isn't just a hypochondriac? If not I think the name ends with 'syndrom'--just can't think of it now--tired.
