Is it because creationism has its roots in religion, namely the Holy Bible, the most feared book in the world, thats another topic. If you beleive in the Bible and God how can you beleive in evolution. Psalm 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork." Romans 1:21-25 "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore, God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishounour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever Amen." The Bible on evolution vs creation!!!!

Because creationism confirms the truth of the Bible through observational science. Evolution is based on historical science which cannot be proven and whose events cannot be repeated. To use evolution as your basis of life is shaky ground at best.

People are evolving the same as germs evolve. As far as you thinking God created the world, just because man is a creator don't mean God is a creator. What if I told you the universe has always been and always be, that everything has always been for all eternity sure it's changing, for the better, sometimes for the worse. If there was a God and creator would he/her let all the wars and suffering go on? If you believe in God and prayer just try and feed the starving people in the world like the bible tell about feeding the hungry. No sorry you have to get off your duff do something about it.

The theory of evolution explains how life developed from simple to complex without contradictions. The theory of evolution is demonstrable, it predicts events logically, and is supported by scientific evidence -- no need to believe in it, no more than 2 +2 is 4.
The creationist theory explains nothing. It tells us that an intelligent consciousness existed before creation without telling us who or what created it, which puts us back at square one about the first cause of existence. It tells us that we must believe that it is possible to have intelligence and consciousness without physical body, or even without a universe, although all the evidence we have of life and consciousness is that even the most primitive form of consciousness, such as sensation, can only be observed in a physical body of some kind, like an insect, or an animal. Every living being possesses its own appropriate type of consciousness suitable for its own type of life. A dog has a highly complex type of consciousness, but only when it is alive. When it's dead, there is no observable dog-consciousness floating around. The same can be said for humans, who possess the most complex consciousness on this planet, adapted for living as humans, of course, and not as dogs.
So, what's so problematic about a Holy Book full of scientific contradictions? It just doesn't cut it to explain anything. That's all. From a divine, super-intelligence, one would expect a better product. At least we should get a refund!

it, creationism, is nothing more than religious gobbleygook to get it into public schools. only it isn't called creationism now, but intelligent design. the only difference between the two is where the words intelligent design is used to replace greationism. if you doubt this fact, read the description of each. they are just different words in the same word for word presentation, the only difference being the words intelligent design and creationism being interchangeable. the rest of the books and presentations differ no where else within them.
and don't justify religious views using religous qoutations. use proven scientific methodology. it is based on observation, and repeatable experimentation and physical evidence, not opinions about how a phrase taken out of context is to be interpreted.
science brings knowledge, religion causes war and destruction and continues to do so today, and will continue to do so until mankind learns how stupid they have been to be suckered into it by scheming, power-hungry, greedy megalomaniacs who want power over all others regardless of what they believe if they can keep the masses ignorant of what is really happening.

i dont think any one is afraid of the bible. Its all religious people equally. We want the world to advance intellectualy and even spiritually. The worlds not going to get any where if the rulers of our nation believe in this hocus pocus obvious contradictory fairy tale! Its just sad when people believe in 'this' type of creationism! We want to educate.
Now, maybe something created the big bang, or the origin of the universe. Its possible, i dont know. But their is no way that everything on this planet was intentionaly molded this way. Unlike you, everytime i cant explain something, i dont go, "I dont know what it is.. it must be majic..."
I quote Thomas Jefferson, "The religions of today are the humors of tommarrow."
I love the argument, when they claim evolution is just a theory and just that. Well we should be careful around the theory of gravity and reletivity.

Our respect for science compels us to resist that which masquerades as scinece but is not. The scientific method has taken us out of the slime and givne us the damn computer you are using right now! The Bible did not tell us how to make these things. And as far as creationism is concerned, how do you know that God did not use evolutionary processes to manifest life on Earth? Are you that arrogant?

Because it is propaganda and 72 Nobel Laureates wrote a brief for the Supreme Court explaining that it is not a viable theory and should not even be considered science or a theory that can be proven and therefore had NO PLACE being taught in science class.. You do realize that quoting the Bible to a bunch of people that reject creationism is a waste of your time right?...obviously you don't.
PS-nowhere in your entire rambling quote from the Bible does it make reference to evolution....can you not understand what you are reading?

I have never kneed a jerk who was misquoting the Bible in favor of Creationism.
Your quote from Proverbs tells you to look at nature for the answers.
Instead, you quote the Bible, think you are wise, and prove yourself the fool.
Creation itself tells the story of evolution.

I think it really goes both ways. Both camps will fight wars over it. But we CAN have both. All you have to do is accept that evolution ran its course until the gods came to earth during cave-man times, and they "created" man through genetic engineering of the species that had already evolved up to that point. That's why we can find prehistoric skulls, but no "missing link" skull. No fight there. Both evolution and creation happened.
