Everclear can get up to 95% alcohol (190 proof) Rectified Spirit can get up to 96% (192 proof, hard to find in the US, its called spirytus rektyfikowany in Poland) Moonshine is a different breed; while it's not "impossible" to make 100% alcohol (200 proof), it's incredibly difficult. Moonshiners can set up a still that can make 95% - 95.6% alcohol regularly. To strip out that last 5% requires additional chemical treatments that take a ton of time, effort and increased cost. Plus it would be a lot harder to find for the consumer. Don't drink pure ethanol or lab grade ethanol (which can be up to 100% alcohol also) because the primary impurity is methanol. Consumption of about 10 ml of methanol will make you permanently blind. About 25 ml usually kills you but at the very least puts you in a coma. Also don't drink isopropyl rubbing alcohol (much different than ethanol), that stuff is unsafe to drink and extremely poisonous. The most common highest proof alcohol would be Bacardi 151 (75.5% alcohol). Not all states and liquor stores sell Everclear, but Bacardi 151 is a bit easier to find, and may be found inside bars too. All the above is extremely potent, please drink responsibly.
