this past week i noticed this cute freshman we see each other in the hallways a couple times per day but every time iwant to try and talk to her she with some friends. is it okay to still try and talk to her? or would that be weird? what should isay? weve looked at each other a few times... and ithink she notices me, how do i approach? this isnt like me by the way, its never been this difficult for me. tips greatly appreciated

Try to start just popping up where she is (coincidentally of coarse) and find some int rest in your talking,lunch would be a great time to talk if you have it the same period.Become friends first then she just might start seeing you as more. I'm a freshman,my bf a junior and that's what my he did,we've been together for 6 months and its been great. I wish you the best of luck =D

Yes try to talk to her. Get to know her a little bit. Be her friend and kinda flirt with her if she does the same things back or you get a feeling that you like ask her out. try to hold a conversation with her! Freshmen girls often don't mind being talked to by a sophmore. Just be casual, and be yourself. I know that sounds cliche but if you do end up hooking up with her, she's going to find out who you truly are anyway.
