I agree with the other answers. Vodka in the freezer, rum at room temp (some people like it in the freezer, depending on what you are planning to use it for). The stuff won't go bad, if that's what you're asking.

Just put the cap on and it will keep till your grandchildren are 21.

Putting Vodka in the freezer is just so that you can serve it cold.

It's just alcohol in a fancy bottle. Capped it will keep forever.

vodka does better in the freezer...and your rum should either be on the counter or in the cupboard.

Leave it in a dark cabinet, you may refrigerate it in you want, and the bottle must be closed.
