This is going to sound pretty dumb for talking about this, but id really love some honest support.
Ive been terrified of death lately. Im not going to turn into a total catholic just because it means id believe in afterlife and all that. I want to beleive what I honestly believe, but I cant help but try to find some reassurance. So rather than worry about death, I decided I wanted to find some keys to happiness in my life. Heres what I plan to do with the rest of my life:
1.Do whatever hobbies and careers bring me the most joy.
2.Live each day and year to the fullest
3.Find faith in what I believe, learn more.
4.Accomplish all that I set out for
5.Find love,ect.
Do you think when my time comes to die whenever from now, that Ill be satisfied with the life i lead and ready to die? is there anything i need to add to the list? im not asking for opinions on religion, but rather what i need to do to feel as if im ready to die...or some sort of feeling like that.
thanks for reading

There was an old line from a They Might Be Giants song - I think it went "Everyone dies frustrated inside and that is beautiful". The idea being that we all live life right up until the end - we are constantly striving and trying to do 1 last thing.
I think you list sounds good, but I can tell you that I do not have any fear of death intellectually (but you can be sure that if I am in danger I will work like crazy to keep on living) and that comes from my faith and my beliefs about the nature of existence. That is not to say that I am christian - frankly I don't subscribe to any organized religion, but I have come up with a set of beliefs that empowers me and keeps me from worrying.
I believe that we are creatures of spirit come here to learn - I believe we choose our circumstances like we choose our course of study in school. I believe we are connected with "home" through our thoughts and feelings - and whatever we dwell upon in our heart and mind is what we get in this world. I believe we all go home in the end and likely return (there is just too much here for only 1 visit) and I think that physical is the "best ride in the park".
What I am trying to say to you is please do stick with your own beliefs and don't be afraid to custom fit your outlook. There is no way to know the unknowable - so you might as well come up with a version that suits you perfectly. The Golden Rule is really the only rule you need in life - well, that and thoughts become things.
Peace!

Of course you are going to have goals for yourself to ensure you live a decent life. You don't have to be Catholic for that. LOL, it's ok
I can't tell you, nor can any one else, what will make you happy in the end. I think you have a pretty good idea though. Do what makes you happy. Just remember though, what makes you happy now may not have the same effect years from now.
I believe that God has sent us here all for very different reasons but I also think that He wants us to find peace and happiness.

Well all i can say is that 21/2 years ago i experienced a near death experience and i was even all most laughing. You see when that time does come you won't be alone. I am not telling you what to believe only what i experienced. I hope you have an enjoyable life and when death comes you will realize that will only be the beginning. life-death-LIFE

No one is ever ready to die. It isn't going to do any good to worry about it, because you aren't going to stop it. The most you will do is trash the life you have with fear of something you can't prevent.
It also doesn't do any good to try to make yourself believe in an afterlife if you don't. It won't work.
The only thing you can do is live the way you want to and enjoy it as much as you can.

A great sage named the Chafetz Chaim said that life is like a postcard. You start out writing big and wasting a lot of space, but as you get closer to the end, you write smaller and smaller, trying to fit as much in as you can. The only way you will be happy is if you figure out what your purpose is in life and spend all of your time working towards it. Helen Keller wrote that many people have a wrong idea of what constitutes happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.

Try adding doing things for others if it is nothing more than a cheerful greeting or a short chat with a neighbor. Get outside of yourself and live a little. Have faith in God and go to confession regularly -- talk to the priest for advice. And think about this -- I am not Catholic!

Sounds like a plan but also sounds like it's pretty "me" oriented. In any case, to be ready to die under your plan means that you have lived a full life and are ready to leave it all for nothingness. That where a belief in God would come in because you can die knowing that the best is yet to come.

Having had the revel in and the doling out of the Lord's provide to us definately offers us a further degree as we minister within the Body of Christ. Anything that we move via as believers must be for the eventual advantage and constructing up of the Body of Christ. The authority must now not be in the best way of being hyped up and I do not consider that that is the experience of your use of the phrase, however this authority has to regularly be tempered via the truth that there's most effective ONE head within the Body and this Head is Christ. We simply have to watch out for the delicate enemy and delight. Everything that we're and feature has to regularly be taken via the Cross of the Lord and difficulty out in resurrection. May we in no way keep again on our element.. be it small or first-class. All is for the Body and unto The Body of Christ. one million Cor 14:26 What then brothers? If you want to make sure you are ready for when the Lord decides it is your time. Make sure that you have Jesus in your heart. If you really want to be happy, do what God ask you to do. He has plans for each life, and by doing His will then you will be more happy. By doing things all for yourself. Then it is pride, and pride goeth before a fall. Share the Word of God with others, and when you get to heaven you will share in the rewards that come in sharing The Bible, and whoever gets saved.
