its my science project and i need research but i cant find any. help due tuesday 1/ 16/07

The answer to that question would be a no - because you don't butter popcorn until after it's popped.

go buy boxes with bags of three,, pocorn bags have a small wire mesh in the bottom to heat up the oil to cause the corn to pop, I would think if it was real butter than that popcorn would pop better, but most microwave corn uses a butter flavored oil

The fat in the butter reaches a higher temperature which heats more of the corn - there are specific corns for air popping that contain more water per unit to prevent the need for fat/oil.

Thermodynamics. The fat gets hotter than the dry air around the other kereals.
