I have a pure bred German Shepherd pup....5 generation pedigree, hip and elbows certified for 28 months...both parents were actually displaysia free. He is a Black/Red...but mostly black with a little tuffle of white fur on his chest....the ear that was tattooed is not up yet...11 weeks old. I have people tell me he doesn't look pure bred at all....? what do you guys think considering he has CKC papers (Canadian Kennel Club NOT the Contenental Kennel Club...I checked that....lol)

for all you people who think the CKC is crap....i wasn't allowed to register my dog because one of his parents weren't registered. They wanted me to do extensive DNA testing to prove he was purebred....the AKC on the other hand registered my dog even though only one parent was registered.

That looks purbred to me, and he would have to be pure to have CKC papers from Canadian Kennel Club. they won't register a dog witout being pure. don't worry about what people say, hes still little and people think of police dogs when they see a GSD, hes just not grown into his body yet, his legs are still stumpy give him time He'll grow

I volunteer for shepherd rescue and I have owned many Shepherds and I think he looks like a pure shepherd. I had a Shepherd that was bi-colored, his parents were imported from Germany, and I had akc papers on the dog and I can't tell you how many people told me my dog was not a pure shepherd. Not everyone knows what they are talking about in regards to what certain dogs look like as pups. Do not worry about the ears right now some pup's ears do not go up until they are eight months old. Socialize and train him well, good luck !!

NO,,, Canadian Kennel Club IS NOT crap!!!!!
Continental Kennel Club is the one that is crap.
With a titled dog you of all people should know that.
At 11 weeks very few dogs look anything at all like they will later on. We evaluate our pups at 8 weeks (Pat Hastings method) and by 9 weeks you can't tell a thing. That window is only about 3-4 days long that you can tell what they will look like as an adult.

Looks pure bred to me, and I've seen a lot of German Shepherds. I think many people think of the traditional tan with black saddle when they think of g.shepherds, and they just aren't used to seeing the black w/tan(red).
He is very beautiful.

He's beautiful. I am quite confident he is purebred because in the conformation picture he has the sloping back and the "slinking" back legs. He may lighten up over time, most puppies do. That may be why people do not think he is 100% German Shepherd.

If you got papers on this one, frame it. He does not appear to be a purebreed to me. If you want to breed, return the dog. You will not be able to find an owner who will hire him for sire. If he will be a pet, just love the mutt.

He looks full like a pure German Shepard, except that he should look like these full breeds:
http://www.freespiritart.com/german-shepherd-champion.php
http://www.puppypurebred.com/index.php/cPath/9_154
http://www.pedigree.co.nz/breeds?b=80&p=G&pp=
But i guess he could pass.
