Being judged on your deeds and works, or being judged on the fact whether or not you had the right Jesus in your heart?

Deeds and works, hands down.

Having "Jesus in your heart" is just a combination of fortunate coincidences: Having the "right" type of parents, meeting the right people, hearing the right sermons, not answering the door naked and scaring the Witnesses away, etc.

Doing nice things, good things, like voluteering at a soup kitchen or helping the homeless takes geniune feeling and effort. It's fair, and much less of a cosmic lottery.

Like God said being judged on the works and deeds you do in this life for him and by that Jesus is in your heart.

I'll take Jesus any day of the week. I can whip up some pretty good deeds, but nothing compared to what God can do.

BTW, faith in Jesus AND good deeds is the way to go. The faith gets you into heaven. The goods deeds gets you all kinds of goodies at the party.

You ask a good question Mr. Green Hair.

Doing deeds to try and get into Heaven won't gain you anything with God.

Accepting God's Saviour Jesus Christ is the only way in.

Not Accepting Jesus Christ is a dead end as God will automatically give you over to him.><>

Well, if perfection is the standard (as it is in the Bible), I'd go with Jesus. John 3:16, everyone's favorite verse, says all I need to do is believe and be saved. So, I'm not going to trust my good works, I'll trust in Jesus' good works on the cross.
