I drank at age 16, and had a 21 ID. I credit it with putting me about 10 years behind my peers in life accomplishments. Never got arrested, maybe I should have been. I enlisted in the military age 18, and I think growing up early contributed to that, too.
Have been there, done that--and it wasn't all it was cracked up to be.
Don't be in too much of a hurry to grow up--enjoy your teenage years by being a teenager. You only get to do it once. So, I guess I'd recommend you hold off for a while longer. Best of luck.

And don't just switch to drugs, either. Stay clean. You'll be glad you did later.

If your talking about like trying it, like maybe a glass of wine or half a glass of beer. Basically small amounts with your family at dinner or whatever, then its perfectly fine. It wont do any damage to you if thats what your worried about.
It would however be bad if you were going out and getting drink from somewhere and getting drunk with your friends etc. But since we're not talking that, I'd say yeah go for it, try it. You might not even like it.

Oh and all those people who say "No" It would be safer for her to try it in a safe atmosphere, ie with her family etc.
Or she can go on not trying it, while all her friends are. And suddenlly when her friends are having parties, she'll try it there and probably drink a whole lot more than what she normally would and get "Pretty messed up" And what osrt of way is that?
So I'm asking is it safer to try it in the relative safety/comfort of her home or is it safer to try it later on and get totally drunk and not be totally sure what is happening and more likely something not so great will happen

Just My opinion - Oh and I used to drink a little when I was 14, but with family and stuff

I do believe in God above. It is not a religious thing. I am 59 years old and no one or nothing can make me drink anything other than what I desire to drink. There is no need for popularity or impressing anyone else by drinking. So yes, 21 years old, as far as I am concerned, is too young to drink. I see you at 14 as a person who wants to learn about life. Trust me, I am not a prude or a stick-in-the-mud but there is no substance in drinking alcohol and/or doing drugs. Remember this, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31. Peace and God Bless.

14 year old? so a 9th grader?
yes. alcohol is a poison. if you drink too much, the first symptom of your body rejecting this poison is nausea. then throwing up. then knocking out. if someone continues to pour alcohol in your throat as a joke after you knock out, you can die.

if this 14-year old is so inclined to drink, i suggest them knowing their alcohol limit. the limit is usually when you feel kind of nauseous. be sure to drink with really close friends though, one at least being sober while the rest drink.

Yes I do. It is a long standing cultural taboo in the US. In some countries, kids drink wine at an early age. Wine has some positive properties, but we have vitamins and supplements, that can get us what we need.

Well, I recommend people learn about alcohol. Most get so overwhelmed by what it can do that they go crazy when they are legal to drink. So induldge a little and learn respect.

When I was in France last year the winemakers allow their kids(about5 years) to take alcohol. Respect is the key.

it may not be like a get drunk but it opens the door to future drunks and more...14 yr olds are dazed enough they do not need booze to make them more confused

No, I don't think it's bad. In some countries it's legal. Booze is only bad in excess and when driving or working.
