From http://www.acne-clear-up.com/acne-scars.htm
In many cases acne scar treatment will help remove the majority of scars. There are generally five types of acne scar treatments that can be used: dermabrasion, laser resurfacing, punch excision, chemical peels, and subcision.
Dermabrasion is when the top most layer of skin is removed to help make deeper scars less deep. In this way the pits are lessened overall. This will not remove the scar completely but it helps with the overall appearance. These treatments have improved overtime and aren’t as painful as you might expect. Dermabrasion can be done multiple times to reduce acne scaring.
Laser resurfacing is a form of dermabrasion. It is when a dermatologist uses a carefully guided laser to burn off the topmost layer of skin. The results vary depending on skin sensitivity and depth of the acne scars.
Punch excision is a way to patch and repair deeper scars. There are some scars that are too deep and too severe to try to lessen by other methods. If this is the case the deep acne scar is cut around the edges. This is done by a punch tool. While the skin tissue is still fresh it is sutured or stitched back together. Doctors who perform this are careful that the stitching will be minimal and will leave the face looking better than before.

goto ur doc - get a prescription for doxycycline - you wont be knocked back for it. Its a safe long-term use anti-biotic used for keeping acne under control - ive been using it for about 2 years now and its help improve my self esteem dramatically. While using this - new acne wont occur and itll give your skin a chance to hear - the acne scars should disappear after a while - if you get some sun on it - it should eventually even out in colour.

You go to a dermatologist and they can treat them. Usually a face pealing or sanding. I had an adult friend who had it badly after they were done you couldn't tell!
