No holy scripture ever says that gambling is good. How can that be good?
We see that the lady luck smiles very rarely on someone. Most of the people loose heavily and keep loosing till everything is lost.
Gambling leads one to telling lies, cheating and even stealing.
It can ruin you beyond repair or recovery.
Listen to all the sages and wise men - including your mom.

Wow! Where does it say gambling is okay? The bible does say we are to be good stewards of our money, which means don't waste any of it. The bible also says the things of this world all belong to God. They're sort of on loan to us ... so we can enjoy them by our wise use of them. Gambling is not a sure bet. That's why it's called gambling.

God had never told us it is okay to gamble. The money is God's and He wants us to use it the right way. So many people go into debt because we want to gamble. God said to owe no man money. When we try to justify sin, and say it is all right it is not.

Show me reference where it says it's ok in the Bible and I will give you an answer, but I think your mother is right.
You should listen to your mother. She sounds like a wise woman.
