First, if it's to get the item repaired, you can get an extended warranty where you bought the product. But before you do, make sure you won't be paying more for the warranty than what you did for the product. Check the policy and see what all is covered. I've heard that most aren't worth the money.
Second, if it's to cover it in case of theft or whatever, it could be covered on your homeowners/renters insurance. Talk to an insurance agent.

The only kind of insurance that will cover those types of things is either car insurance (If you leave it in your vehicle and it gets stolen) or tenant's insurance (Incase your house burns down or something. Phone any insurance company to ask about these types of coverages.

Try renter's or homeowners insurance. Almost all agents will be happy to steer you in the right direction.
