Tobacco is very addicting and once you start its hard to stop... Many people smoke because they need to clam down in may ways nicotine is described as a drug...
I can't really answer your question becuz every one smokes becuz of different reasons:
They are surrounded by people who smoke...
They feel depression..
They feel per pressure from friends....
The thing you need to know is that smoking kills and It doesn't discriminate...
So if your considering smoking or if your just asking this random question spread the word...

what made smoke the first one, usually getting drunk, thats when I smoked my first cigarrette, at a bar. That one hard habbit to kick.

same reason why people eat chitlens....or ham hocks...or.......go hunting ....................or...................do other random things....just something to do....a choice...........................or sadly in the end an addiction to some.
