I'm 19 years old going on 20.

The past two years of my life, I've gone through some very hard times... and now I dropped out of college for another semester for health reasons, I feel like a bum.. and I miss all my friends. I can't go back for another six months, in the mean-time, I'm going to try to get a job and help out around the house as much as possible to try to keep my mind off of things.

I have no health insurance and I keep having anxiety attacks, even when I sleep... which is maybe 4 hours a night. Nothing helps.. any idea what I should do? Even if I did see a doctor, would he just refer me to my old psychologist/psychiatrist? .... My Psychologist/Psychiatrist wasn't a good doctor, and I'd prefer never to see/hear from him again. I don't really want anything to alter my brain chemistry or anything like that.. I just need something to help me relax... any advice? Nothing is helping me... :(

Hi, I am 47 and had them sence I was 18. I have learned to live with them. I have not had one for 15 years. First thing you are not going to die from it. And then go with it. Tell it its not going to hurt you. If you fight it it will keep coming back. Its only feelings. Take deep breaths when it happens. Try and do other things to get your mind off of it. I learned all about them and how the mind works and that helped alot. Read about them. I hope it helps some.

It sounds like you are on the verge of a depression. OK, your last therapist sucked. Get another one. That's your right. If you want to try relaxation on your own, I'de suggest yoga. I use a CD called PM yoga Mediatations by Gael Chiarello when I'm highly stressed. IT WORKS!
I'd really suggest a combination of therapy and yoga. Good luck

ck out her at the encycopedia:

I really don't know what to tell you ... I would tell you that you need to find another psychiatrist...
I would think of this maybe medication would be the best thing for you... May be you should ask your doctor for anti-depressants...

Sorry I couldn't help you with your problem...
I think you need someone to talk to preferably a psychiatrist if you can't find another one...
