I went on a crash diet, ate very little for one week, my weight was 225 then i actually ate right on that day, 25 hrs later (today) I woke up at 240 lbs. what happened?

Gaining or losing that much weight in 24 hours is unusual. It is particularly unusual to gain that much. For you to gain 15 pounds means that you ingested 15 pounds more of material in the form of food or drink than you released from your body in the obvious forms. That is a great amount of food and such to ingest in such a short time. Even divided among 10 meals, that's 1.5 pounds per meal. That's a lot.
I suspect something else is going on such as an error with the equipment used to read your weight.

EAting very little is unhealthy and counter-productive in losing wieght. the best way to lose weight is just to eat healthy and excercise.

basically your muscle glycogen stores were depleted and your insulin sensitivity was high. so when you went back to normal eating your body stored a lot of glycogen and water in skeletal muscle...

my bodybuilder friends go through that all the time when they are done competing for the year..
