For the last couple of days, my husband and I have been urinating a reddish orange color.(We are totally faithful to each other...so please no inappropriate comments about one of cheating or anything like that) it is not painful to urinate, and does not have an odor, its just strange. any idea what it could be? We did get some candy sent to us from outside the country that is pink, but my children have eaten the candy too, and they are urinating a normal color. Could it be the dye in the candy? But why aren't they urinating reddish orange?

It might be the candy, but have you eaten any tomatoes or beets? These foods will cause red urine.

All these people telling you that you & your husband have a UTI or kidney infection. You certainly haven't described the symptoms of either one. Reddish-orange urine can be caused by certain vitamins, medications and food coloring/dye. Have you both started any meds or supplements 2 days ago? It doesn't sound at all like an allergy or dehydration and I don't think it's from the candy. As long as you're not bothered by it, don't worry. Increase your daily water intake by one liter and flush this out.

Dark urine tends to mean either a kidney infection or poor kidney function. The kidneys process all the fluids and expell toxic waste from the horse's system. Or it could mean that she is dehydrated. Or she has a urinary tract infection. All ways, she needs to be seen by the vet soonest! The vet will know what to look for and I suggest that you get a sample of her wee if you can in a clean bottle or jar. Just shake some straw under her and she should oblige.

Reddish orange sounds nasty! It almost sounds like a kidney infection. Can you think of anything else you both may have eaten- like bad seafood? I cannot think of anything of the top of my head that would cause this colour (like blood in your urine) unless you have some kind of infection or you're taking some kind of multi-vitamins. Did you have sex while having your period? Have you eaten anything that may contain raw yeast (that may cause a yeast infection)? Regardless, you should both go and get a blood test done and consult a doctor to be safe.

Get checked for bladder infection. They seldom hurt in the early stages, and are easy to cure with medication.

It could be dye reaction - some people tolerate different dyes differently but only a urine test will be able to tell for sure and, if it is a bladder infection it could become much more serious if left untreated.

That isn't normal.. You could have kidney problems.. Sometimes if your urine is a reddish orange you need to drink more water... I also learned form Science class that it could be a sign of diabetes.... I definitely thin you need to see a doctor...

Good Luck and I hope you are perfectly healthy...

coloured urine is usully down to the food you have eaten. Perhaps you and your hubby ate more of the candy? Or perhaps your kids drink more fluids so their urine is more dilute?

Doctor. NOW.

This sounds like the start of a urinary tract infection. And I'd get rid of that candy. It sounds as if you guys are allergic to it.

THats it, just like when you eat a lot of aspargus you pee green. If you have no pain or pressure, i bet it 's the candy.
