That would be a cult, yes. That's about control, not the best interests of the people involved.

i would say so. i mean show me were in the Bible it says that. i know were it says we should use one another. just because they are a leader does not make them an expert on everything.

i understand if you have a question about the Bible it is easier to get it answered by the pastor. or someone who has been in that church or belief for a while. then someone who is new. but calling another person of the church to hang out or talk to is not wrong.

i know some like mormons when you get into the temple they dont want you to talk to anyone. that is because so much is wrong and they know it. so if you cant talk to anyone about it then you eventually dont think about it.

but also the Bible says a temple first off is a place to worship and pray. so any church building is a temple. second everyone is allowed into the temple. not just those who are that belief. and also we are all Gods temple.

As an indicator of a dangerous cult, I would place this somewhere between shunning non members and being told to drink poisoned Kool Aid.
