For example, if I leave an insulting answer on a question - and Lord knows there have been plenty of them - I have my e-mail free, for discussion. What does that say? That I am willing to defend my view. Sad, how some people can't do that. Why? Why can't they?

I'm sorry, I'm not talking about people who 'need to accept Jesus' I'm talking about the ones who think they all ready have, and behave like three year olds who can't have what they want.

I say that is an unfair judgment to make as to the reasons why someone would not have open e-mail. It is a lot of hassle and time involved to take the discussion further outside the basic Q and A forum. All types of believers and non-beleivers do the same thing so unless you did a poll, it seems you are taking your frustrations out in the wrong direction and want to "win" an argument. To know more about someone, spend time reading their Q's and A's and you will likely find out what you want to know and they have the option to do the same. No big deal to lose sleep over. Personal preference entirely has nothing to do with defending one's views or not. The fact is you express yours and they express theirs and nobody has to like or agree with it if it's within community guidelines. If you want more than that, you should go to a specialized forum elsewhere on the topic you wish to debate or discuss further.

Peace!
I know of only one group that consistently post insulting answers.
I do not insult people when I answer questions. The only reason why I don't give my email address is for the very same reason you are complaining about. I don't want to receive insulting answers!
Have a nice day, whatever is left of it.

I have no clue. Personally, I never leave insulting answers on here. It is totally pointless and childish to me. I don't think that anyone should post anything on here unless they are willing to back it up with some kind of an intelligent answer. I give you props for being bold enough to have your email on here. I am going to double check mine to make sure I do. :)

I used to have my email open but I got tired of all the stalkers, religious fundies, and kids with chips on their shoulders sending me hate emails because of my beliefs or the lack thereof...
I try not to leave insulting answers, but some people are insulted if you just disagree with them.

I have been tempted to hide my e-mail because of people spamming my account, just saying stupid things like "Go off and die", "Your going to burn in hell", or "you need Jesus". It gets very tiring after a while. I have not blocked it yet but the idea is tempting sometimes.

Oh yeah, it pis$es me off to no end. I mean if they had the balls to keep the link open, maybe we could talk some sense in to them and educate them so that hate and ignorance don't continue to spread.

This is a opinion oriented site. I have no interest in debating with someone so they can rant to me. This site is about answering questions. Not debating them.
