My mom can't wear clip earrings anymore because they pinch her so now she doesn't wear earrings at all.

I thought I'd surprise her with a gift of magnetic earings which clip to the earlobe with one magnet on either side of the earring that holds it in place.

However, my mom is 77 and wears a hearing aid.

Could the magnets on the earrings interfere with the operation of her hearing aid? Would they have any adverse effect at all on the hearing aid? (It's in just one ear). Thanks!

As ZCT stated & I must agree :)

You are not likely to have any problems , You may however have Issues with the " T Switch Position " Telecoupler / Telephone mode , But as ZCT said , I think you will have no problems .

Try the Earing and see how it goes .

Since your Mum has only 1 hearing aid , It most likely that she would use the phone on the ear without the Hearing Aid ??

The Magnetism will NOT in anyway Damage the hearing Aid .

Let us all know how you go .

Hearing Aid Magnet

With most conventional hearing aids the answer is no. Although there are some hearing aids on the market that use a magnetic field to switch the aid over to a telephone setting. Unless she has very modern and expensive aids, she will probably be just fine.

no, the hearing aid is just a sophisticated audio amplifier and shouldn't be affected by a magnetic field. although they must be pretty strong magnets to hold and earring on something as thick as a earlobe. bet the pinch like hell too.

I'm sure that it's a bad idea for hearing aids to be exposed to magnets, especially the hearing aids that fit into the outer ear.
I wonder if your Mom might like to have her ear lobs pierced?
Good luck.

No he doesn't have hearing aids. They are these devices that help you hear stuff that you are saying better so he can hear over the loud noises and hear the things he supposed to be hearing around him. If you notice other stars wear them too exspecially during preformances.
