Stay away from acidic foods like orange juice, pizza etc. and you can buy over the counter topical antibiotics for it like at wal-mart.

It's a Kankersore (sp?). Any sore is a form of a herpy so you just have to not bite it because popping it only makes it take longer to heal. I have one right now and I'm using carmex on it to keep it from getting sore and it's getting smaller after only a couple days of using carmex. Just try not to bite it and it will go away.
Addition: I asked my dentist today about mine and he said that pills don't help for sores in the mouth because a lot of the issue is with keeping it dry so that the skin can get rid of the bacteria but that can't happen inside the mouth. The constant moiture and risk of biting makes it harder to really help them. He said to just be careful until it goes away.

there is a mineral called L-lysine, it comes in tablet form (the pills are way big and gross but they WORK). the recommended dose is 1000 mg a day, but when I have chancresores i take 2000-4000 mg in a day. It gets rid of them wicked quick, but do not take it if you're pregnant. i don't know what happens, but it's not good. oh, by the way, you can get the pills in the vitamin aisle in wal-mart or GNC, or other places like that.

Swish some MilkMagnesia in your mouth it will help ease the pain of the it and help it heal faster.
Or you can go get some OralGel and use that, but that stuff hurts worse and makes mine worse.

Zovirax... it's a cream that you apply to the sore. Works great.
