The church that I go to is not mine, per se, it belongs to Christ; it is the Church of Christ. The teaching there does satisfy my mind and my soul, in that I have learned so much in the last two years than in all of my Christian walk, and that walk is going on 30 years! The Church of Christ does not teach man's traditions at all, we believe in the Bible and what it says. If you ever notice that the church you are attending now doesn't match the one that is written about in the Bible, you should leave that church and find a congregation of the Church of Christ.

I hear you sister, I was also raised Methodist and lost it when I was in high school, not because my boyfriend was a pagan. I know I'm not going to hell, I have got a place all my own in heaven. I was sick of following the man's traditions too, I choose to see it as a women see's it and let me tell you, does that put a damper on your parade. I realized women are not as powerful as we think we are, something I would like to change while I'm still alive. So, no church doesn't satisfy my soul, espeically because our preacher is male as are all of the preachers I've heard of.

I also was raised methodist. I concur with your thoughts. They rely on readings and sermons that don't teach the word. It's a 58 minute feel-good service each week.
I don't think that salvation is often presented in a methodist church. I pray that God revives this church.

Amen sister. There are many who attend church regularly who will one day hear "Depart from me, I never knew you." It does not have anything to do with the denomination, but the individual within as you have rightly said. some people are under the illusion that being members of a church is their ticket to heaven yet they neither know God nor love Him.

My church definitely does! Our pastor preaches straight from the bible and does not preach it according to HIS liking, but preaches it as God intends it - the REAL meaning of God's word. Some churches either 'conveniently' omit certain verses they don't like or agree with and/or they twist the meaning of the bible to suit their own liking. My church definitely satisfies me! :D Of course, the Holy Spirit inspires our Pastor with the truth of His word, giving him the ability to understand His word so he can preach it to us, so I know I'm being taught the truth - :D

Note: Only Jesus can satisfy your soul. Find the church or body of believers where His Presence is undoubtedly there, and you found satisfaction for the soul. And yes, they are out there. PEACE!!!

You don't need and external religious trappings, just your own belief. You have started thinking and questioning. This will eventually lead you to the truth
