depends on how much you like him. And of course the circumstances surrounding him going after his ex.
If you've been talking to him for 3 months then you are still checking each other out and you're probably not in a serious relationship with this guy. His ex has history with him and she's familiar to him. She's still his ex, so don't worry about them getting back together anytime soon.
My current girlfriend got with her ex after we had a brief break from each other. I was really mad, especially since her Ex is a violent person, but we weren't an item so she could do whatever she wanted.
