I want to learn to sleep 6 or less hours per night in order to increase my productivity at work. I have heard of people being able to sleep 4 hours per night without excessive fatigue.

I spent many years going on 5-6 hours. Lots of coffee, trust me 7-8 hours is better. You could try being more efficient.

IE - If I get out all of my clothing the night before, I can save 20-30 minutes in the morning when I get dressed. Cook several meals for the week at once.

This way you can devote more time to work and still get your sleep.

BTW - No one ever lay on their death bed and said "I wish I had spent more time at work".

Maybe you can sleep 6 hours at night, and have a short nap around 5pm.

I remember reading about a sleep study where participants slept 20 minutes every 4 hours, day and night. I think this link describes something similar. I don't know if it works or how long it would take your body to adjust. http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2002/4/15/103358/720

The best thing to do to increase your productivity at work is to balance your life outside of work. Eat exceptionally well, exercise daily, don't drink more than 2 cups coffee or alcohol per day. Spend time with friends/family, read the newspaper, etc. Work on your organizational skills and prioritize tasks so that you meet your deadlines easily. It is unlikely that you can be productive for 18 hours at work every day, it would be more beneficial to take breaks and do things you enjoy.

It's really not going to help you if you're tired.

If you realy wanted to do that, just go to bed the same time each night and set your alarm for the same time and always sleep like that, you'll get used to it. But I really don't reccommend doing that, cuz your boy cant function when half charged.

take the six hours, definitely. and try to get more. how about you try waking up earlier every morning? for ex. if u normally wake up at 6, wake up and 5 45, next day: 530, next day: 500...go until whatever time you want to wake up at.. maybe go to sleep earlier.

Not possible.

Sleeping less than 6 hours is not good.
