This man ( military guy ) is somewhat brainwashed into believing that so don't take him in a serious manner. He means well but when he ( They ) lose the war and he gets out and reads history he will discover he was wrong.

No I don't think it's a funny joke actually. The SOLDIER...
"military man?"...this isn't kindergarten
May not be fighting for your freedom exactly, but he's fighting for what freedom means.
As an American we should all understand this, imagine living in a society where your every breath and move were monitored. Your children slain in the streets and an innocent women beating if she showed her face.
This is what the soldier is fighting for, they are all trying to make a difference in the life of an innocent...
as an american who has all the opportunities you have you woudn't understand that, or the sacrifice these men are going through. Risking their lives and missing their families to help others.
I don't agree that Mission Iraq is the most intelligent, it's killed many good men and made our country broke.
But I will not say that it's not justified.
People are dying and there's a way that we as a nation could try and change that fact.
I don't know if we'll succeed, I can't say it will ever end. I can't say that if it fails it will disrupt the way we live our life. But try to imagine, we've risked so much already. It definitly won't destroy us, but we'll be losers and the United States doen't take that likely. Do not think that I am for Bush, I'm not but it's all very complicated...
but not in the least bit FUNNY.
Nothing about Iraq is funny
Nothing about death
Nothing about pain
Soldiers are fighting for everyones freedom
Learn to think of the world as your own we are all brothers and sisters, and just because we live in the U.S it doesn't mean we deserve to suffer less.
I think your ignorant...
You know what's funny?
Your an idiot!!!
ha-ha
Have a great day!

Ok now it is obvious your last question was a load of crap.
If we aren't over there fighting then Iran would take over the country and have control of the Middle East. Then Iran nukes Israel and we have no more allies in the Middle East and we are stuck in the middle of World War III.
Or what if we just let terrorist do whatever they want and then they keep on attacking us(does September 11th, 2001 ring any bells?), how much freedom would we have then?
Go thank a veteran.

Democratic countries don't make war on each other. This is what he meant.
I don't want 10 points from you for "best answer", cause I don't need them. I am guessing, Ashley, that you are a man in your 20's. I want you to ponder your own question here today.... for 30 more years. And then explain what you have learned in your lifetime to another 20 year old. OK?
NOTHING today will convince you that the serviceman knew what he was talking about. NOTHING TODAY.
You, Ashley, have to live longer and see your freedoms taken away from you little by little in the USA. The rules keep getting tighter and tighter to make America safer from those who resent "democracy and freedom for women and ethnic minorities.
Let's talk in 20 years. You remind me of ME in 1970. Naive.
That serviceman wasn't talking about YOUR freedom = Ashley's freedom... he was talking about YOUR freedom, everyone who is now free or wishes to be free.

The fact that anyone is willing to put on a uniform and go to battle to protect a nations interest should be respected, not ridiculed. Maybe you don't think that THIS particular war is right or moral, and you may be right, but those same soldiers, sailors and airmen are prepared to step up when you do need them, to repel any threat to this nation. Maybe you should just say thank you and shut your mouth.

This is not funny and this is not a joke.
How is he protecting your freedom? We leave Iraq - watch the attacks in the US start again.
