that is what's called the Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). basically it is the minimum amount of calories that a persons body would need to sustain life and function optimally at complete rest (like bed rest)

that number is pretty much dependent on the persons Vo2Max and the amount of lean body mass (LBM) that they have. so it will vary from person to person..

That can depend on the person in questions activities. Some people only manage to burn 200-300 a day while other can burn upto 1400- 1600, I'm guessing!
