OK - Here it is... The first question you need to ask your self is "Do I truly want to quit?" Or is this just someone else's idea of what my life should be?...If the answer is YES than keep reading. A nicotine craving only lasts for 3-7 mins or so. If you can keep your noggin focused during those few intense craving moments than your home free! Once you get to that 2-3 week period your cravings will drop off like a glacier crumbling towards a hotter planet. For me it was at this 2-3 week period that was the turning point, taste buds, smell and breathing begin to increase at astounding rates. Just remember to focus on deep breathing and just plain will power to over come...One other thing, begin an exercise routine during this period so you don't fly off the handle at every person you meet. Most people need some sort of exercise to keep the balance.... GOOD LUCK!

Sometimes you need to listen to you mind such as when it say's it is time to stop smoking. I do not know how much you smoke or for how long you have smoked. My advice for stopping smoking is probably best for someone who has smoked for a long time and smokes a lot. If you just smoke a little you may need to smoke a few more years and more per day for you to be able to make it using my method.

Simply put when you quit cold turkey (only way to do it) your body will physically hurt CRAVE cigarettes and your mind will SCREAM telling you just one will help get you through it. The more you body screams and the more pain you have will be your eventual strength. What ever you do do not allow yourself to have even 1 cigarette for 7 days. During this time feel every ounce of pain and suffering let you mind even magnify this pain, remember this pain!!!

Now think about how much this process hurts and ask yourself if you want to ever have to quit again. If you have just 1 cigarette you will eventually have to repeat this process over and over again until you can finally feel enough pain and suffering to finally never have one more cigarette. Only you will be able to decide when you have felt enough pain, hopefully it will be soon.

It took me until I was 39 1/2 years old (26 yrs smoking) and was smoking 2 1/2- 3 packs per day. the pain was horrible the withdrawl pains were painful. And I make sure to remember how painful it was quitting every time I want a smoke. This is 9 1/2 years later and I have not had another smoke since, but that does not mean I have not wanted one, boy have I, 1000s if not 10s of 1000s of times since.

But I know if I never start again I will never need to quit again or die from smoking for that matter.

Peace and best of luck.

Pick up a habit. Most people go to the gym, because when you quit, you tend to eat more and put on weight. Find something that will take up time so you don't spend it smoking. Gums and the patch, for me atleast, only put off smoking and you eventually become dependent in a way. Hard candies work nicely, too...

1. Change everything in your life(-job-friends-lovers)
2. Throw all cigarettes away except for one(keep it, place it in fingers, chew on it, just don't light it)
3. patches, gums, inhalers
4. Eat every time you want to smoke( not good)
