He knows that you are about to devote your attention to these things and it is his way of saying he is jealous and want you to pay attention to him instead. Give him a little extra loving before moving him from the new point of interest and make sure to occasionally let him know you still love him while you are involving yourself in other interests.

It's a cry for attention! My cat does this a lot as well, so you're not alone. When a cat gets in the way of your everyday activity, it's because he wants to be apart of your life; in short, he loves you!My advice would be to say "NO!" in a loud voice. That will scare the cat away, and he will learn not to do what he is doing. But doing this may scare him away from you, which could affect your relationship. If that is the case, keep reapeatingly picking him up and putting him on the floor if he sits on shat you are doing. He will learn that you will not give him attention if he does this, and he will stop. Dont forget to praise him when he behaves. Good luck!

Because cats are little attention hogs and love to try and distract you flcik a tale, jump on your lap or the back of the chair and lay right in front of you or even on top of your hands where they know they are seen. They do it over and over until its almost like with a dog where it seems a game and then they become as determined as you do at keeping them off and them getting back tot he spot and yes they can even get mean when you dont give them what they want ( my a little bit like humans ) Sometimes to make it easier or get work done you may have to just stick them in another room and close the door they may cry and want out but they'll then switch and just go to sleep on your bed.

That is probably means he wants more attention. My cat does it all the time in fact i have a picture of my cat laying on my homework. So just spend a little more time with it or give it food, but DON'T spoil him or he'll do it all the time.

Oh, this is too funny. My cat does the same thing! I have a laptop and it gets really warm, maybe that's why. She also chases the cursor when I move it on the screen.

he does it for the same reason our cat lays on the newspaper while i'm reading it or stands on her hind paws and hugs my kneee while i'm on the computer, they want our undivided attention. the reason he gets mad is he is not done with your attention and wants more of your affection

He or she knows what your attention is directed to and is placing itself in the most conspicuous path for feline attention too.
