Are you crazy? First of all, at 15 you can be exclusive, but you are a little young to even use the word 'commitment'. Secondly, I don't believe you should ever go for a friend's ex....unless it has been years and even than, I would find it very strange personally...but I know people who don't. At the moment...even if you ask your friend if it is okay, it can jeopardize your friendship. Are you her best friend or not? I don't want to be critical, but I think you aren't thinking straight. I don't care if he looks like a movie star...it is just a 'no no'. Good luck...

No. If you truly have feelings for this guy, that can't be helped and in that case you should have talk with your friend. But in your case it sounds like you only like him because he's "hot and funny" and there are no true feelings. If she is your best friend you shouldn't be doing things behind her back and she should be the first one you talk to if you have feelings for this guy. Your friend probably still has lingering feelings for her ex and you should keep that in consideration. If you tell the guy you like him behind your friend's back, that will probably end your friendship with your best friend. Girls usually tend to think exes are off limits so you should really sit your friend down and have a serious talk with her if you plan on doing anything.

Well honestly sweetie, you're the type of friend I would stay away from.....I think it's ridiculous for you to honestly ask something like and then call this girl your friend. If you like him...control yourself. If you date him it will ruin the friendship, is it worth losing your friend over some guy who doesn't even know you exist? There are millions of guys out there don't make the mistake of choosing a bad one.Good luck babe.

Well, my rule of thumb is don't mess around with your girlfriends ex. You will probably lose your friend. They may get back together--you never know. But she prob don't want her girlfriend dating her ex. I wouldn't want my girlfriend dating and ex of mine. Well, maybe unless it was many many years ago. But I'm prob alot older than you. I don't know! I have found out that when my girlfriends ask my advice they usually end up doing what they want to do anyway.

NO!!!!!!!
Please, I know this might sound rude but I swear- for one, it's REALLY rude to your friend, and for another- dating your BEST FRIEND'S EX- is like, against the code.... IF you want to put your friendship at risk, go ahead, but... no guy is worth ruining a friendship over. Friends are FOREVER- boys are WHATEVER.

Well i would think it would be ok just make sure you tell your freind first because if you don't she will be hurt. And don't worry about commitment if it doesn't turn out well you have plenty of time.
