usually to get a good nap in you need to sleep between 30 and 45 minutes. i found this out last year while i was attending BGSU. if you sleep for any less than that you dont get into a deep enough sleep to do anything you will still be tired, and if you sleep longer than that you get into the deeper stages of sleep and when you wake up you will still be very groggy.

I heard it was 15-20 mins. They call them power naps, just enough to re charge the brain, but not enough to make you tired!

it takes 20 min to actually drift into a deep sleep, so a nap should at least be 2 hrs.

its appropriate to take 10 minutes. as after 10mins of being asleep you start to fall in to a good deeper sleep after which you experience worse and greater tierd than you probably did in the 1st place. the place as 10mins leaves you feeling refreshed..
