They choose to beleive and what is the problem with that? Christianity is not that oppressive so Paul gives a command in 1 Corinthians 14:34,35, so what? The average woman refuses to honor this command because they do not like it. So they pick and choose what scripture they obey. That means they are normal, average Christians. No problem.

Women do not think they are equal, women ARE equal.
God does NOT advocate this inequality.
The inequality comes from a handful of men who wrote a book many centuries ago that is only an interpretation of God's words, and is based upon the popular, misogynistic culture of the times.

When I speak with God she always tells me that she made men and women equal, so I have to believe her.

Because I'm a muslim. Women in Islam have just as much right to be part of society as men. They are not stuck in the house cooking and cleaning. A woman's only duty is to raise the children and be available to her husband. If her husband wants the cooking done and the cleaning done, he must either do it himself or hire somebody. If the wife chooses to do so, it's a charity to her husband and he is not allowed to complain. The only thing he controls is money, and even that isn't completely so because she has the right to work and do with her money as she sees fit. Men may not harm their wives, and if they dislike their wives, as the Quran says, there is more good than that in her. You need to know some arabic before reading the Quran, because the translators were hardcore macho types who used the harshest forms possible. The translators changed some meanings here and there due to ignorance.

Good question, because it is not like god has ever encourage any equality, in fact he has helped to blame us women for everything that has ever gone wrong.
