What is that little voice in the back of your brain telling you? Taking a break to have a fling is cheating. Taking a break to evaluate the relationship doesn't give you a blank check to whore around.

Do you both now you are on a "break"? And whose idea was it. Why are you on a break, is there someone else in mind allready? These questions should be addressed by both of you. People have different rules when it comes to a break. If you both agree that seeing someone else is ok then your fine, if not if would be cheating.

No, it's not cheating. What the hell is a break. Sounds like a break up to me.
My ex girlfriend did that to me MANY times.
One time I said enough and went out with someone else during this so called BREAK.
She found out and called me a cheater!
She broke up with me... duh.
Later, this other girl quit answering her phone, so I figured I was single again.
My ex and I got back together later, and she ended up cheating on me, because I cheated on her? No we were not together, she wanted a break, not me.

It depends...
if you mutually agreed that this was time apart to see other people and explore your options, it's far from cheating. If, on the other hand, your 'break' was just time to think about YOUR relationship, then, yeah, it's cheating.

If it is you that is getting some then it isn't cheating. If your partner got some also. Usually it is cheating to the one that didn't have any fun. It is always good to clarify that scenario in advance to prevent complications down the road.

Well, I'd have to say no- as long as both partners know that you aren't dating at that time- if you're on a break, then you're ON A BREAK- which means you can do whatever you want, as long as it's not life-long commitment or anything..
But that's only my opinion.

It depends on what boundaries you two have set up for your break.
What is the point of this break?
Breaks in general are stupid to me. Either you're together or you're not. Choose one.
