I, for one, don't plan to insult your spelling. Anyway, speaking just from my point of view, I don't consider all Christians to be dumb sheep. It does get annoying when they insist on trying to convert a person who is quite happy with their own religion and don't want a new one, though.
The Bible is no more and no less a myth than the religious beliefs and writings of all the other religions, from the Ancient Greeks to the modern Pagans to Buddhists to Hindus, etc. Each religion will tend to view the relgious writings of "rival" religions as myths, because they believe that no writings but their own could possibly be true. People who do not believe in any religion may view all religious writings as myths. Niether one of these views necessarily demeans the "myth" in question, as long as the importance of it is acknowledged.
Now, no offense, but some people who are religious do fit the "dumb sheep" description. Not just Christians though. Dumb sheep come in all shapes, sizes and creeds. "Dumb sheep" are the ones who simply behave as such. They never question anything, not ever the religion's leaders or policies. A person of any faith can explore and question their religion and faith and not be any less for it. The more they study and examine, the richer their faith can become. Someone who does that can never be a "dumb sheep" even if they choose to proclaim their faith from the rooftops.
That's my take on it.

I hate to answer your question with a question but....What do you have faith in? Since all religion is based on faith, asking someone why they hold what the bible says as fact, is really kind of ridiculous! Christians are not dumb following sheep, they have faith that the words are God's own. If "Christians" believe that God wants us to live clean and with love for fellow human beings and that makes them walk the earth with nothing but love for everyone (even people like yourself) what is wrong with that? And maybe you should look up the definition of myth.....

The real question is where do you get proof, objective, observable facts, that establish the bible as the word of God? The Bible is by admission and documentable evidence an anthology, a collection of works by multiple authors, written down after generations of aural tradition. It contains conflicting accounts and has been through multiple translations and transcribed, by hand, during which it has been materially edited during the transcription process by "unauthorized" persons.
The broad assumption that these works are factual, without any factual supporting evidence is belief, not knowledge. You may have feelings about the Bible and its authority, but you do not have knowledge. Many faiths throughout the world point to the truth of their "scriptures" and the falsity of others. Each is based however on belief, not knowledge. And each religion willing accepts this basic principle when it comes to invalidating authority of another faith's sacred writings, but not their own.
So the short answer is that I draw my conclusions about the Bible from the facts, from documentable evidence, from the research and work of credible scholars.

Because for many, they need to be able to support the meaning of every single verse or believe nothing at all. If you are one of those who has never needed to have every answer, then you become the ignorant idiot, that believes in a fictional book. If you notice, this site is full of questions criticising christians for not having solid facts to the scriptures, yet those same people offer nothing to support their non-belief other than it doesn't make since or it is impossible for that to have happened. I believe in God and Jesus Christ is my savior, I will never have all the answers to my questions. Don't let pesimistic people get under your skin. If you have faith, then stick to your beliefs. Many men and women have given their life for you to have that right.

There are many voices in the wind and it's human nature to listen to the ones that "ring true" within us. The heart is deceitful. It is fallen flesh and will hearken to what boosts the ego or validates whatever psychoses a person has. What they need is the conviction of the Holy Spirit, and our arguing won't give that to them. We are to testify, love and pray for them. To help them when they want help and to let the love of God shine through us onto them. You'll never prove the Bible's truth to them by arguing. That's God's affair.

well, that's because the Bible IS a book of myths, legends and morality tales very loosely based on some historic places, peoples and events.
and there is a spell checker, ya know. you can use it so you don't appear undereducated. it's not like using a spell checker is cheating. i use it.

the bible was made in the coucil of nicea by constanines will. He had about 300 bishops attend and debate and pick which gospels to use.
The bible you use today is abou 3/4ths of all the gospels
But many of these gospels were made of old pagan tales.
heres some examples
1)The pagan gods Horus, Mithra and saturn ALL were virgin born, of a god. Has 12 deciples, died to save man, had 12 deciples, had a last supper of bread and wine.
2)Horus, Mithra and saturn all walked on water to prove to their followers that faith in "the gods" could give you the ability to do anything.
3)All three also healed a blind mean, the diseased, and horus healed a man named "lazarus" (hmm..sounds familiar)
4)All three preformed miracles and in all their traditions, told about a great flood (noahs flood) but that it killed all life and it began again.
5)All three also, being "sons of gods" were tempted by evil for 40 days in the desert.
6) and finally Horus was wanted dead at birth by Herot (jesus was wanted dead by herod) and mithra and saturn were wanted dead by "hera"
.....christianity is nothing by monotheistic paganism.

I don't know, just believe what you know to be true and forget about those who insult you (remember, turn the other cheek). Study your spelling and use spell check:) Be happy, you have Jesus.

It is because 99% of them don't understand the bible and only believe what others tell them it says.
As for your spelling. I am sure your not American nor from England. You probably speak several languages. I would like to know how many languages they can speak.

The God I believe in would not condemn anyone for eating shrimp. the god I believe in would not condemn a person for who they sleep with. The God I believe in would not flood the whole earth. It only takes common sense to reject the bible as factual or even moral.
