When you shower, if you use very hot water it can be drying. Also use soap that is moisturizing or for sensitive skin. Try a moisturizing shower gel.

Lubriderm is a good lotion, also try the medicated kind (gold bond I think). Don't get anything with fragrance (like bath and body works). Fragrance can make your skin more irritated.

It starts with your soap. Use a glycerine soap and avoid real hot water when you shower (no matter how good it feels in the winter). Then put on lotion - I have been using bath and body works for about 3 years now. I use the lotion at least twice a day. And the itching is much better, I no longer scratch until I bleed.

My hubsand & I both have real dry skin. The best thing we have found to help alot is, Oil of olay bath wash, for extra dry skin. Just get you a bath matt, it will make your tub slick.
