FYI, Masonry is not a religion in any sense of the word, yet it is religious.
Church membership is not a requirement, yet membership in any church is no bar to admission.
There is nothing in the requirements of Masonry to prevent a Catholic, a Mohammedan, a Jew, a Buddhist, a Protestant, a Mormon or any member of any religion from becoming a member.
The actual birth of modern Masonry June 24, 1717 and by the year 1750, Freemasonry had found its way to America with lodges in Boston and Philadelphia.
In Masonry, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are equal to Brashma, Vishnu and Shiva.
Masonry borrows from many religions, including the world's three great religions.
The Bible is placed on the altar, and passages from the New Testament are woven into the rituals though Christ is omitted.
Some lodges are even dedicated to St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist, who are claimed as "eminent Christian patrons of Masonry."
In general, masonry is a "fraternity" that in trying to incorporate all religions mixes the sacred with the unholy.

Whether I wear my Mason ring in church or not, I do not get treated any differently. In fact, I was taking a bible course through college, and part of the final project was to visit at least 5 denominations and write a paper about them. I wore my ring to all 5 churches and was welcomed back at every single one of them.

The Masonic Lodge is simply a group of men who believe you should be able to be who you are no matter what. They don't do anything religious because they believe you can belong to any religion you would like and that doesn't make you different from anyone else.

I think some of my brothers have covered it pretty good.
Heresy was a large factor in early days. Catholic church seems to still not allow Mason while being Catholic. As far as other sects I think they have not gave it much attention.

Freemasonry promotes indifferentism, the heretical (to Christians) belief that all religions are equally legitimate attempts to explain the truth about God but that this truth will never be explained. This is incompatible with Christian faith because Christians believe that God has definitively revealed Himself in the person of Jesus Christ, and desires that all men come to the knowledge of this truth.
Freemasonry's teachings and practices also result in syncretism which is the blending of different religious beliefs into a unified whole. This shown in Masonry's religious rituals, which gather men of all faiths around a common altar, and place all religious writings along side the Bible on the Masonic altar.
The Lodge's practice of requiring its members to swear immoral oaths is also incompatible with Christianity. These oaths require a Christian to swear on the Holy Bible that he will uphold a code of moral conduct that prefers Masons to non-Masons, and to preserve secret passwords and handshakes. Such oaths are immoral because they are trivial and not necessary. These oaths are sworn under penalties of physical torture and death (e.g., having my throat cut across, and my tongue torn out by its roots). These penalties show a lack of respect for God.
With love in Christ.

Mason's do not believe in the God of the bible, they believe in a "higher power". So bible churches or Catholics who have their own version of the mason's are not fans of masons

because most churches fear what masonry believes in: EQUALITY FOR ALL MEN.
i sit in lodge with christians, jews, hindus, muslims and a taoist, and none of us have any issues with each other. because all of us know that we will protect and assist each and every brother to the death. churches fear us.
---
oh i am swimming in ignorance now... Masonry doesnt hold any official stance on any religion. the master of my lodge is catholic, so whoever thought that catholics couldnt be masons is full of it.

Demonic ties??!?! what the hell are you talking about? what kind of evidence do you have for that? the same "Evidence" that condemned the knights templar for demon worship?

James 5:12
But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
basically you are forbidden to swear an oath, and there are deeper problems with the masons and demonic ties

They see them as participating in the occult or an evil power. They see it as a new religion.
