"Oded" is a hebrew name. It appears twice in the bible. It's the name of the father of the prophet Asarja (2Chr 15,1.8), and it's the name of a prophet who lived in the times of king Ahas (2Chr 28,9-11). I've found two meanings:
1. He (God) has helped
2. encourages
His last name's origin is German. It goes back to the German word "Fähre" meaning "ferry".
