So i used to get constipated a lot and last week i said enough is enough. I started eating lots of fiber and taking Metamucil which increases the amount of Fiber. Overall, I have been crapping this week a lot more than I did before. But I still get constipated a couple of days and I dont understand why. Could it be because of the diet change?

It could be the diet change but most likely your not drinking enough water or exercise. The Metamucil is great but you need to drink gallons of water with it to make it work.
Remember you don't have to GO everyday to still be considered "regular" Even if you went every second day as long as your not straining it's OK. Remember don't hurry the process. Relax and give it time to happen. Go to the loo as soon as you feel the need so it doesn't get a chance to compact it self.

How much meat are you eating? Do you have any vegetables in your diet? If your having an abundance of meat then that could be your cause. Cut down or drop beef for a few weeks and see how that makes you feel. Beef just sits in your intestine like dead weight that causes some issues. Also look into eating more chickpeas, some types of nuts, wheaties, peas, etc. Getting fiber direct form veggies is way better then gettting it from, Metamucil.

Everyone doesn't use the bathroom everyday although you should. You mentioned a diet change which naturally could change your regularity. More importantly is medication, are you taking anything with iron or codeine? These are both things that could really constipate you. Don't use mineral oil it leaches the vitamins from your body. Try Nature's Remedy an over the counter stool softener and increase your liquids, take it easy you can overdo the fiber and end up with gastritis!

I thought if you used Metamucil daily that you wouldn't be constipated. If I were you, I'd add Activia yogurt to your routine as well. It's a new kind of yogurt that is sold in the dairy section of the grocery store (green label). It comes in great flavors and it guarantees to help within 2 weeks or your money back.

It usually takes dynamite to move me, but this stuff really works. I highly recommend it. (Hope you like yogurt, but even if you don't, you can eat this stuff in 4 spoonfuls.)

It is possible your new diet is causing constipation. Too much fiber in the intestine can absorb lots of water and cause your problem.

You not saying if you drink a lot of water, if not that's problem, I've had the same thing and started to drink a lot of water, and now it's better. Try a stool softener to get you on the right track. My daughter also had the same problem, and it worked for her also. Try the fruit flavored water, it's easier to take then plain water.

Yes, diet change is a biggie..Add more fruits and veggies. A shot of prune juice daily will do the trick. Good Luck.

You may not be eating properly. Once you establish good bowel
habits then you should be regulated. Mineral oil removes vitamims from your system. Meat is harder to digest than vegetables. Especially beef. Fresh fruits and cereals are good.

It could be because you haven't made the all necessary diet changes.

If this is continuing problem for you, ask your doctor for a referral to a registered dietician, who will help you to see what you need to do, and help you to set up meals plans that help.
