Tell them to go ahead and serve but make sure to vote the Republicans out of office 100%. The troops will live longer and if they do have to fight the democrats will make sure it is for the correct reason.

Ashley - for someone who has so much "self confidence" you are really lacking in the common sense department!

As a wife of a career soldier (of 14.5 years) who has served in Iraq (was there for over a year)- I can tell you that your personal views of "sympathy" for the soldiers who are over fighting for the freedoms that we enjoy everyday would be nothing more than a slap in the face!

A lot of the men and women fighting believe in the cause! They believe in helping out the humanitarian efforts, and believe it or not... there is a lot more truth to the war than most people want to accept!

The media is not giving you the entire story... believe it or not... they are actually writing to make a profit! Since my husband returned from Iraq about a year and a half ago, he has made it perfectly clear, that the "non-biased" media is slanting everything! He has seen the fight and knows what he is doing (and did) was right!

With that being said... I know that the majority of the military personnel I am friends with, WOULD support your freedom of speech (that they fight for) to say you do not agree with the war! Blatently stating that the war is wrong and you are sorry for them... not a wise move!

So, in summary - telling soldiers that you are sorry for them, or pity them is just going to get people p*ssed!

Probably NOT because you probably do not know enough to make that judgement. I would assume you have made your decision with limited research and strictly based upon peer influence and that just is NOT enough.

It is a TERRORISM thing with OPPRESSED people following the WRONG leader is hopes of a quick fix and a better life.

Let's assume that you are locked in your room with no cell phone or computer and forced to do ironing on a diet of tofu for all of your life. You would pitch a fit but no one would listen.

Then this really cute smooth talking guy comes to your window one night and says, "I can make it all better and take you away from this life. The school is the problem and your parents are TERRIBLE for doing this to you.

He takes you away to a wonderful house, buys you things; computer, cell, nice clothes and fine dining. Then he says, "We have to blow up the school to make a statement for what is RIGHT and then burn your parent's house to punish them for their injustice to YOU".

TERRORISM is simply manipulating the OPPRESSED and offering them a WAY OUT. When they can't feed their kids, live in shambles and have NO education they simply look for an option.

For Iraq to raise up the masses to an acceptable life standard, then the manipulators of the oppressed have to be put down. As long as governments allow their citizens to be oppressed, there will be terrorism.

Perhaps this offered a little ensight to the BIG PICTURE that you have failed to grasp in your youth.

My personal feeling is that the UN, headed by the US should pour a TON of money into Iraq to raise the oppressed masses UP; construction projects, education and a living wage to All OF THE CITIZENS! When they can take care of their family, feel safe, get an education and have a full stomach then the allure of the power seeking manipulators will vanish.

Our troops will not have to track them down because their own "SUBJECTS" will turn on them and do the job for us.

No you shouldn't I agree with the other posters and the character Col. Nathan Jessip in "A Few Good Men" I would rather you say thank you and then be on your way. We do not join the military so that we can judge the wars or fights we get into. We join because we feel an overwhelming sense of duty to this nation, its people, our freedom, and our rights. I doubt you even realize that your question is far more insulting than sincere.

I feel sorry that you're a moron. What you've asked is offensive. My husband is AF currently in Iraq. io don't feel sorry for him and he doesn't feel sorry for himself. he joined the AF in a time of war because he felt it was the best thing he could do for his country. He is brilliant and incredible at what he does, which is why he was deployed to Iraq 3 times last year and is there now. this is what he wants to do. he were t be killed I would know that he died doing his duty and protecting his family. What do YOU have to offer? Are you making YOUR country a better place and helping others of the world improve thier lives? How are YOU protecting MY freedom?

no you should not

one this war is NOT wrong w/e you may think

however it is definately NOT being conducted as it should be for which i fault the democrats in office tieing the hands of our troops and the president for not doing somthing to give the troops there power back

the problem is in todays sociaty you could take every evil murdering ,fascist , raping ,or w/e else criminal on teh planet and put them in a single giant stadium with one inocent person and the liberals in office and in the main stream media would prevent us or do everything in there power to prevent us from killing them

personaly if i was that one inocent person id be screaming for the world to forget about me and blow these people to hell where they belong

in responce to mellisa ( i think tahts the right name) the democrats in more recent time voted repeatly against funding to help supply the troops
and there theres the whole fact that the clinton administration drasticaly cut military funding and pay , downsized the military , and closed many military bases

Why do you think your opinion matters to the troops, they are doing their duty, and your running your mouth , let me guess your a democrat and you really believe that Bush and Cheyny lied to get us in this war, and none of them Bush,Cheyny,Rummie, Condi and Halliburton ever thought about putting one WMD in Iraq. History will proove if this war was wrong or right. The odds are not in your favor. Tell the troops thankyou.

Frankly we don't need you to feel sorry for us. We serve because we want to and if we didn't believe in what we did then we would get out. Most of us see the bigger picture. Also, most of us don't really care what people who have no military experience think.

It's OK with me, perhaps I'm not that sorry, thanks God I got back from a war I think isn't fear for us because it got nothing to do for our country and that had cost 10 times more that it should. Because is easy to start a war that's gonna be fought by someone else.

I'm proud about I done my job, but I would be more proud if would be for my own county, for my people.

Don't pitty me because I believe in the work I do. Don't pitty me because I go there and help hundreds of Iraq citizens stay alive and to assist in improving their quality of living. Don't pitty me because I execute the mission my Commander in Chief has given me. I was in while clinton was in and he had no buisness deploying our men and women accross the globe, but I did as my country asked.

No, I think I will pitty you for believing in CNN, MSNBC, CBS and other news stations...including Fox News. I will pitty you for yelling "foul" and not know what really happened or what is going on. I really do pitty you for believing the slant put on this conflict by the media and the Political Parties.

If you want to pitty the Soldiers, Pitty them because we don't have the full support of our country and her people. THAT is truely a shame and that is what is the real pitty.
