but how can you really be free to choose if you know one choice is going to have very bad consequences? If I put a gun to your head and tell you that if you choose one thing I will kill you but if you choose another I will let you go, of course you will choose for me to let you go, but did you really have "free"will? no you did not

"free will" means that you should be totally free to make your own decisions free from external interference, that is not the case with the christian religion, people are not really free because of course they want the reward (heaven) and fear punishment (hell)

It's exactly like a criminal thug tactic: Hey, you are free to do whatever you want, but if you don't do what I say, I'll torture you.
So...the choice is yours.

Well free will is the right to choose. God makes plain the consequences. Think of it as smoking cigarettes. The doctor isnt affecting your free will by telling you the obvious health problems that will come from smoking. But you still are free to choose to do it.

God sent his son (Jesus) to bleed and die on a cross to pay for the sins of those willing to believe. It is like having a free ticket but if you choose not to take it then wide is the road to damnation.

C.S. Lewis said
"Now is our chance to choose the right side. God is holding back to give us that chance. It won't last forever. We must take it or leave it."
