Great question - The German government did a clinical study and fount that it worked in 1/3 of the patients that had joint pain. I tired it for 3 months and it did nothing but I have friends who have used and and continue to use it. They fell it has reduced joint pain by 80%. Give it a try and if you fall into the 1/3 of the patient population where it works then you will be home free with a reduction in pain.

If you have osteoarthrits, yes, it can make a difference. But not for joint damage from other causes.
Other causes of joint damge have other disease processes involved, and can't really be helped by glucosamine.
I hve multiple types of arthritis and together they affect just about every part of my body. But I have OA in my knees and they are the only parts of my body that respond to glucosamine.

My grandma has rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis and is taking glucosamine chondroitin. She says there is less inflammation in the joints; which is part of what causes the pain. She did tell me that it doesn't work as a pain reliever per se, but it is very good taken daily to help reduce swelling and strengthen her hands.

Yes! Glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM are the only things that keep me going during the heaviest months of my work season. I'm pretty leary of Paul Harvey's ads for one with type two collagen; I doubt that Hi-health is the most trustable company in the world. (I answered their phones for a while, and I sold ephidrine to little old ladies for weight loss.)

yes, but get pill that has all three: glucosamine, chondrotin, and MSM.
All have helpful properties.

It's reported to do so. I take it and it seems to help somewhat. You should also take fish oil caps for omega 3's which reduce inflamation.
