My cousins did just that, about 3 months after being married by a Judge, in a Civil ceremony. Marriage is considered a Sacrament, in the Catholic Church. Some people that are married in a civil ceremony, then get married in the Catholic church, call it "having the marriage blessed."

Judge wedding and Catholic Wedding in the church by a priest are 2 different things.... Judge legally binds you but in the eyes of God, you are not yet wedded.

It depends too on your faith.... If you are very Catholic and religious for that matter, better have a Church Wedding by a Catholic Priest... At least, you will be given spiritual guidance which is very important for every wedding.

Hope that helps....

Yes you can get married in the church even if you are already married, as long as the 1st marriage was a CIVIL ceremony. You really need to discuss the particulars with the priest you want to marry you. All situations are different.

Yes you can. My husband and i got legally married 4 years ago but never had a celebration if you well for it . We will be married five years next year and we have decided to get married by church so we could have the church blessing and be able to celebrate. Depending on your church you might have to take marriage classes like we are. Ask your father at your church they'll explain the process for you. Congrats on taking the big step to bless your marriage.

basically... not really like actually getting married again, but it's a renewing of vows. Pretty much like a wedding, only you are already married so you can't really get married again. That's why you renew vows!

There are exceptions that will let you have the traditional wedding, they try to accommodate all requests.....talk to a priest.

No, you'd have to have a renewing of vows instead.
