Everyone in the USA is an immigrant (or alien as you call them.)
If you're concerned about illegal immigration, the issue is really about whether we should continue to let people in illegally and should we give amnesty to those who are already here illegally.
Personally I don't think it's fair for honest immigrants to have to watch as others break the law and cut ahead of them to get into this country. It's unfortunate that the immigration system is slow and there are so many people that want to come into this country, but it doesn't mean they should break the law.
The hard truth is that the real solution involves completely stopping immigration until the problems are resolved. This would require building walls at every border, north and south. More are coming in from the south, but I've read that most of the terrorists are coming in from the north. We could be in big trouble if we don't do something about the problem soon.
Typical politicians don't want to make people angry so they keep delaying solutions.

Excuse me, but I am tired of this illogical argument.
My ancestors came to America when it was legal to do so. They also WORKED for a better life, they didn't take welfare.
People crossing the border are illegal immigrants and are sucking our system dry. Get your facts straight.

It is not now and has not been for a long time about where you are from or how you got here. The question is how best to proceed from this point.
It is not about hatred or racism or fairness. It is about population.

Legal immigrants are great, we invited them. Illegal immigrants are totally different. We don't want the burden they put on our schools and services.
We have a right to say how many we want to provide for.
All of my ancestors came legally.
