okay, so at the start of the school year, my brother was like a skater dude and wore those types of clothes. and now, he has dyed a blond streak in his hair, wears black, wears tight pants, has his hood on a lot, and all he does in his free time is sit on his butt at the computer and listen to music. i am worried about him, why is he changing like this?

More than likely he is just coming to the age where peer influence has less to do with who he is. He is coming into his own and figuring out what he likes (music, clothing, etc.)
I would say likely nothing to worry about.
Just watch for signs of depression however from the sound of it he is fine and is just going through the typical stages of development. Rebelling and becoming an individual.

we all change. you will change .
the only part that sounds not to great is all his free time alone at a computer. that part is not so great . you could help him ask him to go to the movies with you . fishing bikes whatever see if you can get him off his butt and outside for fresh air and some chance of meeting others .

Young people tend to go through fades or phases in their life. One minute they like this then the next its something else. Maybe he is just trying to find his niche or himself, where he fits into the scheme of things. Its nothing wrong with him changing as long as he's not a psycho killer or anything like that its cool..

It's hard to tell. He most likely is trying to fit in with friends or people he want to be friends with. He will change a lot more than that in years to come. So you better start getting used to it now.
If you are having a hard time understanding. Try talking to HIM about it. See what he has to say about it. Also try talking to your mom or dad.

Because he wants to be cool. Perhaps now the perception of cool is to be emo and so he has taken on that personality to fit in. Either that or he's having problems at school and this is his way of getting someone to notice. Talk to him to find out for sure.

depends on how old he is he might just be going through a phase or he is trying to go goth. a lot of "skater dudes" do that now.

Well, how old is your brother exactly?Teens go through phases like that.I did!My personality didn't change too much but my style and some things I enjoyed did.If you're really worried,then you need to talk to him.

Is he also starting to hang out with different people? Who you hang out with can change your style. I wouldn't worry about it, it is just a phase he's going thru at his age. I went thru it too. As long as he isn't hanging out with druggies or in a gang, I wouldn't worry too much, accept him as he is and tell him you love him no matter what. We all crave acceptance. Good luck!

People just change. He's probably just going through a different phase in his life. I wouldn't worry too much unless he was being destructive.

because he's growing up
people expect him to be someone who he isn't
so he got tired of the high acheivement bar
and decided to do what he wants
i did almost the same thing
there's no reason to worry about him
it's just a phase
