Even though you pick it up curbside, the person who took your order on the phone has to bag it up and get the condiments in the bowls etc. Often time they have to put all the items in the 2go containers, so a 10% tip is the norm. 20% for when you get waited on inside, 10% for when you get waited on outside. Hope that helps.

FROM OP: "That person makes on average $7 hour. If you have the money to order Car Side-to go, it's obvious that you are in a better financial situation that someone putting orders together at Applebee's." That is a stupid assumption to make, and shows your ignorance. What idiot assumes "Oh, they're ordering and picking up their food from their car. They must be made of money!" I order carside to go. It doesn't mean I'm that much better off than the person ordering my food........;

Yes, the person who brings out you food is providing a service to you. By them taking your order, placing it, packing it to go and then physically delivering it; they are doing just as much as a regular waitress/waiter.
I don't know why you won't tip. That is rude. This person is hand delivering your food to your car while you sit in it and not do anything. I would actually give the person delivering your food, just as much credit and respect, as a server in the dining room.
Would you like to do this job, deliver food to strangers cars? Think about it.

Yes, because the person has to bundle your food and deliver it to your car. I would leave a few bucks, though, not the standard 20% unless it was a really big order.

If I was too lazy to even get out of the car for take-out, then yes, I'd tip the poor person who has to deliver the food to my fat ***

yes it's proper etiquette. Especially since the majority of those workers make less than minimum wage because they get tips. So they do depend on the tips. its just like you should tip grocery baggers who help you out to your car. Same concept.

Does someone bring it out to your car? If so, you should tip that person. If they just hand it through a drive-up window, like at McDonald's, then no.

If they bring it to the car I give a couple of bucks. If I have to go in they usually get nothing.

It is appreciated, that person getting your food together is missing out on the tips she might be getting taking care of tables.
When we get food at work we always put in a little extra.

Never tip, prices are high enough and they get salaries, it's not like they are volunteer waiters/watresses. Just be polite and kind to them.
