My 11 month old golden retriever has a dry and very warm nose. Plus certain areas of her body are warm. Do you think she has a fever? Or, do dogs just sometimes get like this? A few days ago we brought her to the vet because of a bladder infection and she has been taking her medicine and is doing better...so i dont know if that has got anything to do with that cuz she wasn't like that yestarday, the day before, or the days before that...

A warm dry nose isn't necessarily an indication of poor health. (Some dogs have a genetic defect that causes extra layers of skin to develop on their noses and the pads of their feet, so their noses are always dry and cracked.)

Your dog, however, may just be having a slightly adverse reaction to her medication, which is generally not a problem if the dog is still eating and evacuating normally, and is still maintaining its normal energy levels.

You can check easily if it's running a fever. Use a rectal thermometer. Anything over 102 degrees needs to be reported to your vet.

Generally dogs noses get wet when there is something interesting for them to smell, so if your dog is just hanging around your house all day i wouldn't be surprised if it was dryer than normal.
If it continues for a long period of time I would definatly just double check with the vet because of the bladder infection...they should answer a question like that over the phone.

If it has just been dry for a little while it could be because he is not feeling well. I have a german shepard and when is nose gets dry I will give him half of an asprin and within 30 minutes I can tell an immediate difference.

He probably has a fever. Look for other signs, no energy, tail between legs, shaking.

Try baby aspirin

He may be better tomorrow.

If not see the vet.

If he starts shaking, go to the emergency vet immediately.

some one once told me that it was because of not feeling good. and they act sleepy when they don't feel good. the cause was never told to me but they just said the dog was not feeling good. but it usually do not last long And if it last a long time then your pet should be seen by a vet. l hope your pet is feeling better soon.
